Last weekend I was CRAVING my usual caffeine fix and decided to mission off on a Sunday afternoon to seek out my newest coffee exploration. I had driven past Story Coffee many times (when on the bus) and I couldn’t wait to give it a try. It was a hot muggy afternoon in London, which vaguely reminded me of the humidity you get in Durban (South Africa) or even Dubai but that wasn’t going to stop me from figuring out what Story Coffee was all about.
Speaking of South Africa, if you are visiting, check out my guide to the best vineyards in town.
The Café was buzzing when we arrived. Every table outside was taken and so the only option was to find a spot inside. I’ve said this before, when a café is packed, you know they have something amazing to share- so I couldn’t wait to find out what we had been missing out on. We walked inside and were greeted by big smiles and chipper attitudes- it was completely as I imagined it to be.
The Interior is light, open and welcoming- and the smell of wholesome rich coffee fills the air. We found a table right in front and very quickly found ourselves drooling at the brunch options on the menu. Too bad we were in a hurry and didn’t have time for a bite!
I ended up ordering my usual, a cappuccino (with no funny bells and whistles) and was delighted with the taste of the coffee- rich, aromatic and strong- just how I like it! The coffee is served in these beautiful porcelain teal cups which is perfect for that Instagram selfie ( which is a prerequisite for coffee adventures these days) even the take away cups are gorgeous!
What I love about this place is the idea behind it- everybody, business or relationship in life has a story right? Stories bring about change, they inspire, they connect people, they show pain, love, excitement and adventure. Stories have an impact and I can definitely say that Story Coffee is doing just that.
As a freelancer, I am always looking for new little spots to work. A place where I can take my laptop and feel inspired to create whilst enjoying a delicious cuppa … or two. Story Coffee seems to be a great spot to do just that. It’s light, open atmosphere will make it easy to work, write, create or even just catch up with friends.
I really did enjoy our brief time at Story Coffee. Unfortunately, we were in quite a rush to get to the evening church service in South Ken BUT I will definitely be back to give that brunch menu a try! It looks too darn good not to!
Check out their amazing brunch menu here.
So if you are looking for a cute little brunch spot or someplace just for a coffee and a croissant, then you should definitely visit Story Coffee and let them know I sent you! 🙂
