I love going away for the weekend and exploring our city like a proper local. Being spontaneous and booking a getaway somewhere out of Cape Town is becoming a habit and one that I love. Sometimes, we all just need to take time for ourselves and enjoy the good things in life. This weekend, Craig and I went back to Franschhoek for 24 hours, however, this time we stayed at the wonderful Station House right next to Vrede En Lust. If you would like to find out what you can get up to in 24 hours in Franschhoek then keep reading to find out more.
Are you throwing a birthday party or maybe a a girls lunch date and not sure where to host it? This is my guide to my favorite wine estates that host the best get together’s in town. From the scenery to the incredible service from the staff- you don’t have to look much further.
Ever wanted to spend all day wine tasting followed by an overnight in Franschhoek, but not sure where to stay? Well, I have the perfect place for you- Bo La Motte.
One spontaneous Saturday, my boyfriend and I decided to pack our bags and head out to Franschhoek for the night. We packed the car and headed out on a beautiful 45 minute drive from Cape Town. After stopping at a few wine farms (without having any breakfast) we set out to find the perfect little cafe for a much needed relaxing lunch. Whilst on our mission to find the perfect lunch spot, we came across Big Dog Cafe and was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and “vibey” atmosphere that the cafe had to offer.
