SA Cocktail Week Grand Opening On 4th November: Save The Date
As you know, I have been all about the healthy life over the last few months but I have to admit, I do enjoy a good alcoholic beverage every so often. SA Cocktail Week kicks off on the 4th of November and what better way to celebrate the end of my 12 week fitness journey by trying some of the best cocktails in town. If you would like to find out more about the event and have the chance to win tickets for you and a partner, then keep reading. I guarantee you, this is a party you will not want to miss!
What is SA Cocktail Week?
This is the second annual SA Cocktail Week that will be taking place in one of the Mother City’s most popular areas. Jarvis Street (behind Cape Quarter) will be transformed into one amazing cocktail affair. A cocktail is not just a drink, it is in fact a piece of art, a masterpiece, an experience in itself. The week long festival is about learning how to drink “better” by truly enjoying the experience that a well made cocktail has to offer.
I was lucky enough to attend the media launch which happened a couple of weeks ago at The Twankey Bar situated in the Taj Hotel. It was a night of good food, great conversations and even better drinks. I can only imagine how amazing the opening night of SA Cocktail week will be.
When Does It Take Place?
The Grand Opening of SA Cocktail Week is taking place on Saturday the 4th of November from 4:30pm to 10:40pm. This is going to be a colorful affair of cocktails, culture and music so make sure that you don’t have any other plans!
Not only will there be an array of pop up bars from popular brands from all around the city but there are also going to be some amazing interactive cocktail activities. In order to fully enjoy everything the evening has to offer, some of the countries best DJ’s will be there to perform the night away. Street party, cocktails, amazing people and beats that will get you movin’ and shakin’… this is the hottest and only place to be on the 4th of November, wouldn’t you agree?
Highlights Of The Night
The beauty of the location is that you are surrounded by incredible restaurants and many different food options to choose from at Cape Quarter. My suggestion would be to have a late afternoon lunch and then take a walk to Jarvis street and enjoy a cocktail experience like never before.
The likes of Asoka, Orphanage Cocktail Emporium, Cause & Effect, Primal Eatery and Burger & Lobster will ensure they have their top mixologist whipping up spectacular signature cocktails made with their partner spirits. Brands such as Bacardi, Jim Beam Bourbon, Absolut Vodka, Tanqueray 10 and Monkey Shoulder will be sending taste buds on a tantalizing journey and educating people with affordable taste-drinks from each pop-up bar ranging between R15 and R30.
Taste your way through mini-versions of premium cocktail bars such as Arcade, Café Caprice, HQ, The Twankey Bar and Harringtons Cocktail Lounge, who are also some of the official SACW venues for this year.
Another interesting twist is that NO straws will be served on the evening. This is to support sustainability and the refuse-the-straw campaign.
What To Expect For The Rest Of The Week
If you like award shows, then you can also vote for your favorite cocktail of the night as SA Cocktail week will be having their very own award show.
For the remainder of the week, ticket holders are encouraged to visit as many of the 10 partner venues as possible, using their SACW wrist band to attend SA Cocktail Week feature events and redeem their 50% off signature cocktails, designed specifically for the week, and available only to people with a valid wrist band.
To celebrate the first event of its’ kind, SA Cocktail Week has partnered with Machangulo Beach lodge to send one lucky duo to an all-inclusive 4-night getaway at the luxury lodge in Mozambique, all ticket holders will automatically be entered into the draw, which will take place at The Grand Opening. So get those tickets guys and who knows, you might be jetting off on an adventure you never saw coming!
Tickets are available via Webtickets. Guests are encouraged to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment and also save big! A percentage of all proceeds will aid the Hidden Falls foundation which uses outdoor and group activity to empower youth from disadvantaged backgrounds
