Ever wanted to spend all day wine tasting followed by an overnight in Franschhoek, but not sure where to stay? Well, I have the perfect place for you- Bo La Motte.
We were lucky enough to stay the night at this beautiful cottage, just minutes from the Huguenot Monument. We booked the accommodation on the Friday night and arrived at Bo La Motte on Saturday, ready as ever to relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us.
We arrived and was welcomed by a very cheery Christelle who gave us the low down on the cottage and handed us the keys. With much anticipation and excitement, we opened the doors to Milkwood Cottage and was pleasantly surprised that it looked just like the pictures.
The cottage was clean and sweetly decorated. The fire place was very inviting, with a complimentary bag of wood, waiting to be used. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessities needed to whip up a delicious meal, if one decided to spend the night in.
The first bedroom has two single beds with a bathroom across the passage. The room is big and cosy and has electric blankets, towels and big windows with old school farm shutters. The main bedroom makes you feel at home. The sunlight shines bright through the big windows and is perfect for lying in bed with a good book and some great company. It’s on suite bathroom has an alluring big bath that tempts you into staying in and hanging out.
We only stayed at Bo La Motte for one night but would definitely recommend spending the entire weekend there. The cottage is suited to four people, so get some friends on board and enjoy a weekend away in the heart of the winelands. It is indeed a self catering unit but there are some really amazing restaurants on the main street that cater to every type of cuisine, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We will definitely be going back to Bo La Motte but for a longer stay. It is incredibly beautiful in winter so I can only image how stunning it will be in summer. This is one of my favorite “must do’s” when in Franschhoek.
