Weekend Shenanigans at Jordan Wine Estate (Stellenbosch)

I had never been to Jordan Wines before but had heard great things about the food, people and atmosphere and so I thought it was finally time to give it a try!

Driving along the dirt road to get to Jordan Wine Estate was one of the most picturesque drives I have had in a LONG time.I drove in and on either side of me were the most beautiful vineyards that were illuminated by the sun, which was peeking through the clouds. Seeing the beauty that surrounded me reminded me how blessed I am to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Jordan Wine Estate is surrounded by lush green garden, vineyards and a dam filled with an array of different wild life. The Bakery looks right out onto the water and is the perfect place for lunch with friends, celebrating a birthday party or even a wedding! I wouldn’t mind getting married there (when it eventually happens!).

The Bakery serves the most delicious food that is seemingly well priced and their wine is to die for! I enjoyed “The Prospector” Burger: Beef patty, Shiraz onions, bacon, mature Boerenkaas, and pickled gherkin with chips on the side… So filling BUT one of the best burgers I have ever had.

To accompany the burger I had a glass of their Dry Rose… I know you are “meant” to drink red wine with red meat but I am not such a fan of red at the moment so I went with the Rose and was very happy with my decision. They also make a damn good cappuccino for the coffee lovers out there.

The Bakery is not the only restaurant on the Estate, they have another ironically called “The Restaurant” which is more suited to a fine dining experience and an excuse to get all dressed up.

The atmosphere is incredible and on a beautiful summers day Jordan Wine Estate is definitely the place to be. Being surrounded by nature, good food, wine and a bunch of friends is the best way to spend your weekend. I highly recommend visiting Jordan Wine Estate if you haven’t already been and don’t forget to book because it is super popular and gets very full.

If you want to wine taste, stay over for the night or even host a conference in such an incredible setting, then this definitely is the place for you!

Thank you for such an awesome experience Jordan Wine Estate, I will definitely be back!
